- Don’t eat anything until any numbness from the anaesthetic wears off, or you might chew on yourself and not feel it until later on!
- If you’re starving, have something liquid, but make sure it’s not too hot.
- Go home and rest, because your body needs time to recover.
- Avoid smoking for the first 48 hours as it delays the healing process.
- Don’t do any exercise or exert yourself for a day or two.
- Unless you’re advised by your dentist to take anything special, take whichever painkillers work best for you.
- It’s normal for the site to bleed a little, for anything up to 48 hours. Just apply pressure from an absorbent pack.

- In the unlikely event that any pain does develop 3 days after your operation, it will need to be attended to by us, so get in touch.

- Clean your teeth as normal, unless advised otherwise by your dentist.
- Most restorations need time to settle in, and will not feel ‘normal’ for a few days.
